Shape Mold Process

Overview​

The Shape Mold station allows operators to start and track production jobs for custom EPS shapes, specifically Build Block and Crete-Heat job types.

When starting a new Shape Mold job, operators must select the building they are working in (Old Building vs. New Building). Material lot tracking is tied to this building selection.

[!NOTE] Why Building Selection Matters: In the Old Building, the system automatically reads lot data from the pre-expansion machine assigned to Silos, allowing operators to select material directly from a Silo dropdown. In the New Building, there is no automated pre-expansion machine integration. As a result, operators must manually enter the Lot Number and select the Lot Type when starting a job.

Front-End Workflow: Starting a Job​

1. Job Type Selection​

Operators navigate to /shape_mold/view and choose between:

  • Build Block
  • Crete-Heat

2. Job Details Entry​

Navigating to /shape_mold/start_job/build or /shape_mold/start_job/crete opens the Start Job form.

Standard Fields:​

  • Operator: Select the assigned operator from the dropdown.
  • Shift: Select the active work shift.
  • Part Type(s): Select one or more part types being produced.
  • Building: Choose Old Building or New Building.

3. Building-Specific Material Selection​

Case A: Old Building​

  1. Select Old Building in the Building dropdown.
  2. The Silo dropdown becomes visible (the Silo field is hidden until Old Building is selected).
  3. Select the Silo being pulled from. The system automatically attaches the Lot assigned to that Silo from the pre-expansion machine.

Case B: New Building​

  1. Select New Building in the Building dropdown.
  2. The Silo dropdown is hidden. Fields for Lot Number and Lot Type become visible.
  3. Enter the Lot Number (manual text entry).
  4. Select the Lot Type from the dropdown options.
  5. Upon starting the job, the system automatically creates a new single Lot record in inventory using this information and links it directly to the job (one lot per job).
